Questions people ask before using this
How is this different from the Payroll Calculator?+
The Payroll Calculator estimates monthly take-home pay for an existing CTC. This tool is for designing the annual salary structure itself — the component split you'd put in an offer letter — including annual-only items like gratuity.
What HRA percentage should I use?+
40% of Basic is standard for HRA exemption purposes in non-metro cities, and 50% for metro cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai). Toggle the city type to switch.
Is gratuity always included in CTC?+
Many Indian employers include a gratuity provision in the CTC breakup even though it's only paid out after 5 years of continuous service. Toggle it off if your company doesn't include it.
